古营盘

Ancient Camp

古营盘是拜上帝会会众在金田起义前夕筑的第一座防御工事，长67米，宽38米，周长220米。这种防御工事，太平天国《行军总要》有所记载。太平军转战江南一带也经常构筑类似工事。金田营盘是考证太平军结构的物证。

The Ancient Camp was the first fortification built by the believers of the Congregation of the Worshipers before the Jintian Uprising with length of 67 meters, width of 38 meters, perimeter of 220 meters. Such kind of fortification was recorded in March Scheme of theHeavenlyKingdom, and being frequently built by Taiping Army after they turn regions south of theYangtze Riverinto battlefields. Jintian Camp is the physical evidence for textual research of the Taiping Army.
